spring festival of lord howe island

Join us for a family festival of adventure, food, wine and music. We’ll have guided adventure activities, fitness activities, cooking master classes, long picnic lunches, kids' activities, amazing dinners, and live music. Imagine everything that Lord Howe Island is celebrated for, without the distraction of WiFi and devices, and we’ll pack it all into one BIG week in October.

The Spring Festival includes:

  • mind-boggling performances from Australian roots musician, one man band, street performer and rhythmic juggler, Juzzie Smith, who was 'unearthed' by Triple J in 2007 and now plays in major festivals around the world

  • cooking master classes with Tom Kime, a protégé of Rick Stein, Ruth Rogers and David Thompson, and author of six excellent cookbooks - you'll taste at least four amazing dishes in each class (and have a sneaky glass of wine)

  • launch of the Adventure Fitness Program with daily fitness activities in a stunning setting - why go to the gym when you can climb mountains and ocean swim?

  • kids’ cooking classes (with Tom), juggling classes (with Juzzie) and adventure activities (with our guides)

  • early kids' dinners so parents can relax with other adults (and perhaps share a bottle of wine or two)

  • snorkelling cruise on the Lord Howe Lagoon

  • picnic cruise to North Bay

  • 'behind the scenes' conservation tourism tour

  • 6 nights’ accommodation at TripAdvisor’s No.1 Hotel in Australia for 2017 & 2018 (and TripAdvisor’s No.2 Hotel in Australia for 2019)

  • full breakfasts

  • lunches (either at Pinetrees, gourmet BBQ hamper or picnic lunch)

  • afternoon teas

  • 4 course dinners (and Tom Kime’s five course festival dinner)

  • island airport transfers

The Spring Festival will run from 29 September to 4 October 2019. Packages start from $3102 per person twin share in a Transit Hill Room, excluding airfares. "There is nowhere in the world like Lord Howe Island - incredibly beautiful, with uncrowded beaches, mountains, natural wilderness, kilometres of walks and spectacular marine life."
