Australian Photography Magazine with Lord Howe Island

We’ve just had a review of our Walking and Photography Weeks in Australian Photography Magazine. We were included in the feature ‘12 Fantastic Photo Adventures’ along with other destinations such as Alaska, South America, Blue Mountains, Siem Reap and Arctic Norway. The writer, Brent McKean, is a Lord Howe enthusiast and great company on the cliffs of Mt Lidgbird. It’s a great summary of our 5 day photography adventure. And, yes, Brent won one of the daily competitions for his 'drama' photo of a model on a particularly precarious spot on Mt Lidgbird, wearing the Great Walks Magazine 'jacket of the year'. Thanks Brent!

Our guests have also written some great reviews in TripAdvisor. One guest wrote "we chose to stay for the Walking and Photography week that they have twice a year and it was superb. We were taken to some out-of-the-way places by the friendliest and most helpful staff. The regular photographic expert, Alex, along with Luke and Kenny made this so memorable", while another wrote "I learnt so much, came home feeling I had had been away for ages, and it was just a week.

We were fortunate of having been recommended to Lord Howe Island and Pinetrees Lodge back in November 1952 where we spent our honeymoon. Much to our regret we delayed returning (to Pinetrees of course) until our 50th Wedding Anniversary and this November on the occasion of our 60th Anniversary. And except for there being some vehicles and many more guesthouses Lord Howe Island has remained as quiet and beautiful as ever. VERY highly recommended.

“Well done” Pinetrees Lodge on great staff, food and service. Beautiful location on the island with an outlook over the lagoon where you can meet for an afternoon beer/wine at the resort boat shed and watch the sunset over the calm water. Pinetrees Lodge is a paradise on earth for children, with the freedom rarely found these days to just enjoy themselves.

A gold star to all staff at Pinetrees Lodge for their attention and care to our needs!

I never imagined such a paradise could exist with its natural beauty and relaxed locals on Lord Howe Island. From snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing to just chilling on the lagoon. I can’t say enough about the staff at Pinetrees Lodge – friendly, welcoming and professional.

I really enjoyed the Mt Gower climb on Lord Howe Island and the birds, snorkelling, swimming, walks etc. I had a comfortable, social and friendly stay at Pinetrees Lodge and the food was outstanding.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere at Pinetrees Lodge and the grounds are kept beautifully. The food was fabulous and all the staff friendly and helpful. The boatshed was an amazing place to sit, relax, have a drink or take amazing photos!

I would highly recommend a holiday at Lord Howe Island and Pinetrees Lodge and I would love to come back! I enjoyed the amazing flora and fauna and I love the bird song. The beautiful sunsets and scenery are amazing. The quality and quantity of food is extremely good.
