Pinetrees on the Lifestyle Channel
10-Aug-2016
Pinetrees has just appeared on the Lifestyle Channel’s website in a review by Candice Spur. This follows from Lifestyle Food's review of our Cookbook. Candice joined our May Adventure Week, and as one of the younger participants, we were worried that she might get a little, well, bored. The 30 somethings often struggle with Lord Howe’s quiet nights and lack of shopping. But to her credit, she tried so hard during the day that she was one of the first in bed each night. During her 6 day stay, Candice climbed Kims and Malabar, kayaked on the Lagoon, snorkelled at Erscotts Hole, explored the remote East Coast near Mutton Bird Point and Rocky Run, climbed Intermediate Hill, and ate enough good food to think about writing a food article instead of an activity article.
It’s great watching young professionals discover life on Lord Howe Island without mobile phones and WiFi – at first they get a bit twitchy, but then, once they realise just how much time they invest in their devices without much return, they appreciate the benefits. It’s little wonder that some of the fanciest hotels and retreats in the world purposefully block all signal around their property. It’s illegal in Australia, but not on Lord Howe - we don't have to…
Our room was extremely comfortable and private. We loved the peace, tranquillity, great service and beautiful surrounds. Delicious food of such a high standard and packed lunches!

The peace and calm and lack of mobile phones and electronic noise are a big plus. I realise I have been here 17 times! Grateful, Thanks!

Lord Howe Island is very special and I have told many people about it. Pinetrees Lodge remains special also – don’t change any of the traditions as it what makes it special and unique.

A great experience in a centrally located part of an exotic and wonderful Island. A pristine paradise with no high-rise, no rat-race and no stress!

Pinetrees Lodge is a great holiday location where all ages can cohabit happily. Great accommodation, meals and facilities. The absence of television and mobile phones is an added bonus.

Lord Howe Island is unique. Location, old world charm, hospitality and food I would give all a 10/10!!! We loved that Lord Howe Island is being preserved and cherished, that a more gently approach to life has been maintained. We felt very comfortable at Pinetrees Lodge, well catered for and at home. Keep up the good (hard) work.
