garden cottage

Our architect designed Garden Cottages have 83 sqm of interior and exterior space with high ceilings, Blackbutt timber floors, wool carpet and Blackbutt decks. There’s a separate living area with cosy couches, a library with over 100 books, small kitchen and dining table. Each cottage has a relaxed coastal style with local artwork by Ken Lees. They have a luxurious king bed and a lovely bathroom with an enclosed private drying deck. The living area can be converted to a second bedroom for up to three children - see the floor plan. The private outdoor living deck faces north onto subtropical gardens, and has a beautiful freestanding stone bath, which is perfect for a relaxing night-time soak under the stars. The cottages are about 50m from the lodge, via level paths and boardwalks, to allow for complete seclusion - see our site plan. We provide premium tea and coffee, plus some special treats on arrival, and a small Bluetooth stereo (bring music on your device). Our Garden Cottages are among the most luxurious rooms on Lord Howe Island, and are in high demand. Pinetrees Lodge and Lord Howe Island are fabulous! The lodge is comfortable and lovely, surrounded by a forest of banyan trees, with flowering shrubs and birds everywhere. The food is abundant and spectacular. The staff is helpful and always smiling. I have travelled extensively, and Lord Howe Island and Pinetrees Lodge are in a class unto themselves – and wonderful!

The peace and calm and lack of mobile phones and electronic noise are a big plus. I realise I have been here 17 times! Grateful, Thanks!

This was our first visit to Lord Howe Island. Everyone told us it was going to be fantastic and it exceeded expectations. The natural beauty of the Island – the opportunity to explore so many different activities or just sit around and read a good book completely disconnects from the rest of the world was idyllic. We look forward to our return.

Pinetrees Lodge was the highlight of our honeymoon, which includes staying in a few different places in Australia. Everyone working here was so friendly and accommodating, food was amazing and of course the Island spectacular. I would tell anyone to stay here! Thank you

We had an extended family holiday that catered for ages 5-76. We did something new and amazing everyday and we did most things all together. The wonderful base of Pinetrees Lodge meant that there was no stress about meals or lodgings. We all ate well and the friendly staff was always willing to help and provide advice. I didn’t worry about our safety at any time and I loved not having my phone in my pocket.

The fantastic service each day as well as happy and approachable staff. The staff made us comfortable and provided us with great ideas to explore the Island. An amazing Island experience and would love to visit each year. A family friendly place catering well to children which is wonderful.
