Bush Regeneration
01-May-2012
The Bush Regeneration Program has hosted 63 groups since 1995, and was
one of the first examples of conservation ecotourism in Australia. Lord
Howe local and the Program's founder and host, Ian Hutton, was awarded
the Order of Australia in 2006 for his services to conservation and
tourism on the Island. The Bush Regeneration Program is very popular
with 65% of participants returning every year - some have come 12 times.
Bush regeneration in a World Heritage ecosystem is immensely rewarding.
Each small contribution helps to conserve and protect one of the world's
most amazing places. But it's not all work. Participants explore Lord
Howe with the Island's premier ecologist, and enjoy access to the
scientific resource centre and other learning experiences. You'll also
have drinks with local rangers.
Of course, you'll also have time to discover Lord Howe's world-class
walking, snorkelling and fishing, and have gourmet BBQ lunches at the
Island's idyllic beaches. In the evening, you can watch the sunset, sit
by the Pinetrees open fire with a glass of wine, and enjoy an
exceptional 3 course dinner.
There are five bush regeneration weeks in 2012: 28 April - 5 May, 16-23 June, 30 June - 7 July, 7-14 July, and 26 August - 2 September. Package rates start from $2333 per person twin share. Please contact us for further details or to make a booking.
