Lord Howe has some of the best diving in the world. The reef ecosystem is the most southerly in the Pacific, and has a unique mix of tropical, subtropical and temperate marine life. There are over 90 coral and 500 fish species.
In calm seas, there are more than 60 dive sites around the island, including the world famous Balls Pyramid. In rough seas, the Lord Howe lagoon is safe and easily accessible. Dive sites such as Erscotts Hole and Commets Hole reward divers with stunning coral gardens and abundant fish life.
There are two dive operators on the island and you can hire all dive gear.
